Activated Carbon Fiber (ACF) adsorption technology

Dalian Megaunity cooperates with Toyobo Co., Ltd. to introduce the internationally advanced activated carbon fiber (ACF) adsorption material, which is used to thoroughly purify the exhaust gas containing VOCs by means of single-stage or multi-stage adsorption and thermal desorption (steam or high-temperature nitrogen). It has particularly excellent adsorption and purification performance for chlorinated organic compounds, benzene, methylbenzene and other solvents, and most of the solvents can be recovered, thereby solving environmental problems and creating economic benefits for enterprises as well. At present, there have been more than 1200 sets of applications in Japan, South Korea, and China.

*Activated Carbon Fiber (abbreviated as ACF), also known as fibrous activated carbon, is a kind of fiber that contains carbon and that has been activated at a high temperature to generate nanoscale pores on its surface in order to increase the specific surface area, thus changing its physical and chemical properties.

Technical advantage - Compared with oxidation/incineration technology

(1) A high removal rate of organic compounds (95%~99.5%)

(2) It can be used in explosive areas

(3) Based on the physical adsorption principle, there will exist no dioxin problem and risk that would be caused by means of oxidation/incineration while handling chlorinated organic compounds.

(4) Excellent safety, capable of treating combustible and incombustible exhaust gases; Almost completely free of ignition/explosion risks.

(5) Up-to-standard discharge is achieved at the same time as the recovery of the solvent. The recovered solvent contains a small quantity of decomposition products and is of high-quality recovered solvent (water-soluble solvent needs to be further separated).

(6) Applicable to a wide range of concentration of organic compounds, capable of being used for low concentration ~ high concentration (10~10,000 ppm).

(7) Small-scale, lightweight, compact-design; With a high adsorption capacity and a rapid desorption rate, and the quantity of the adsorption materials used is only 1% ~ 7% of that used before. The device is lighter and the space occupation is reduced.

Technical advantage - Compared with granular activated carbon adsorption technology

(1) The diameter of the activated carbon fiber is 10~30μm, and its adsorption kinetics performance is excellent.

(2) It has a narrow pore size distribution, namely 10~30 Å, and the utilization ratio of the pore structure is higher and it has a better performance in terms of specific adsorption.

(3) Its specific surface area is large, with the maximum up to 2000 m2/ m3, while that of the general granular carbon is 1200 ~ 1300m2/ m3.

(4) It has a fast adsorption and desorption rate, which is 10 ~ 100 times that of general granular carbon.

troduction to the activated carbon fiber adsorption and recovery technology

The adsorption and recovery device consists of the pretreatment system, adsorption system, desorption system, and recovery system.

Taking the two-compartment adsorption device as the example, it is composed of two parallel adsorbers, namely Adsorber A and Adsorber B. The exhaust gas to be treated is brought in by the draft fan after being filtered, and then enters into Adsorber A for adsorption treatment through the baffle valve at the inlet. When Adsorber A has been functioning for a certain time, steam is brought in to carry out the desorption, and at the same time Adsorber B begins to adsorb. After organic compounds adsorbed in Adsorber A are desorbed by steam, the gas mixture enters the condenser for condensation. After condensation, the liquid mixture enters the stratification tank for gravitational stratification, and the organic compounds enter the storage tank after separation. After desorption completes, Adsorber A begins to function and adsorb again, and meanwhile Adsorber B begins to desorb. Adsorber A and Adsorber B function alternately and cyclically.
